Ad benchmarks by industry, 2026. What a lead costs, what a customer is worth, what you can pay.

23 business types, from regenerative clinics to remodelers to wealth managers: the published cost per lead and cost per customer, what one customer brings in gross profit, and the most you can pay to win one. Every published figure below names its source and the date that source states, or reads undated where it states none; the gross profit and ceiling figures are PELORA's arithmetic on the loaded values, and a loaded value with no published figure behind it is labelled an assumption you replace with your own, or is set by the unit itself (a fee that already covers a year counts once). The 30-second answer

A customer is worth what they pay you over the years they stay, times your gross margin. Divide that by three 177, 178 and you have the most you can pay to win one. Divide by the leads it takes and you have the most a lead can cost.

Published lead costs in our categories run from about $14 to $406 per lead, and published cost per customer from $6.73 (ad cost per Amazon order) to $16,608 (cost per admission). The table shows where each business type sits.

Before you spend: Google Ads does not allow ads that promote stem cell therapy, other cell therapies or PRP, except FDA licensed or approved therapies advertised by the license holder and ads that are only educational. Meta's health standard requires health ads to target people 18 or older and bars claims to cure listed diseases. The FDA says stem cell and exosome products are not approved for any orthopedic condition. So, outside those two exceptions, paid promotion of these treatments has to run off Google Ads. 43, 44, 45, 7, 46, 47

IV therapy rests partly on assumptions: no measured drip frequency, retention or no-show figure was found. Gross margin comes from three franchise disclosures, and the cost ranges come from agency case studies and an aesthetic proxy.

Medical weight loss rests on published program prices plus proxies: no cash-pay clinic figure was found for retention, margin, show rate or enrollment, and the retention proxy comes from patients who paid nothing for care.

Before you spend: Semaglutide, tirzepatide and their brand names are on Google's prescription drug list: US ads may name them, but keyword targeting needs Google certification, and telehealth prescribers need LegitScript. Before you spend: California Business and Professions Code 651 bars licensed nurses from any false, misleading or deceptive public communication, including testimonials that mislead by leaving out material facts. Show and close rates rest on weak sources and margin is an operating-margin proxy, so set those three to yours.

Before you spend: For SEC-registered advisers, the Marketing Rule bars testimonials and endorsements in ads unless its conditions are met, starting with clear and prominent disclosure of whether the person is a client and whether they were paid. Google requires financial services advertisers to show a physical address and all fees, plus separate verification in the countries it lists, and Meta's required US category for financial services limits or removes age, gender and ZIP code targeting. 157, 158, 159, 160, 161

Lifetime revenue is price times purchases times years; gross profit is that times margin; the ceiling per customer is a third of gross profit 177, 178; the ceiling per lead is the ceiling per customer times the share of leads that become customers. Daily budgets in the calculator divide the month by 30.4 179. Where no measurement exists the value is marked as an assumption, and the calculator lets you replace every input.
