The short answer

PELORA Marketing is a content marketing agency in Newport Beach serving Orange County and Southern California. We build content around the exact questions customers type into Google and ask AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity: answer-first articles, question-intent pages, FAQ content with schema markup, and video repurposed from real on-location shoots. Every piece maps to a question with buying intent, so it earns search rankings, gets quoted by AI engines, and feeds email, social, and paid ads. Retainers start at $3,500 a month, and every engagement begins with a free Growth Check on a booked call.

Most content fails because nobody asked for it

The internet does not need another "5 Tips for a Healthy Smile" post, and neither does your pipeline. Only 47% of B2B marketers even have a documented content strategy, per the Content Marketing Institute's 2025 benchmark report, and it shows: most business blogs are graveyards of posts nobody searched for. We start from the opposite direction. Before anyone writes a word, we mine the questions your buyers ask: what they type into Google at 11pm, what they ask ChatGPT, what they say on sales calls and intake forms, what shows up in People Also Ask. If a topic does not map to a question with buying intent, we do not produce it. That one filter is the difference between a content engine and a content expense.

Answer engine content: written to get quoted

Search is splitting in two. Semrush's study of 10 million keywords found AI Overviews on just under 25% of the queries it tracked at the July 2025 peak. Add ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini, and a growing share of your customers now get an answer without ever seeing a list of blue links. So we write for the quote, not just the rank. Every article opens with a direct, plain-language answer in the first hundred words, the exact format answer engines lift and cite. We layer in FAQ blocks, schema markup, and entity linking so machines know precisely who you are, where you operate, and what you offer. When someone in Orange County asks an AI engine a question in your category, the goal is blunt: your name is the one in the answer.

One shoot becomes a month of content

Our video team shoots on location: your practice, your job site, your build. Never stock footage. A single half-day shoot with your lead provider answering the ten most-asked questions in your category becomes a month of material. Each answer gets cut into a short vertical video for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The transcript becomes an answer-first article with the video embedded, exactly the pairing Google and AI engines reward. Pull quotes feed social. The strongest cuts feed the paid team, which ships 5 to 26 creatives a month per account, set by tier. And when you would rather not host a crew, our Newport Beach studio is ready. Shoot once. Multiply for weeks.

Topical authority beats random acts of content

Google and AI engines trust sites that cover a subject completely, not sites that post whatever felt interesting that week. So we build clusters, not one-offs. One pillar page anchors the core service. Around it, question-intent pages handle everything a buyer asks on the way to a decision: cost, comparisons, recovery, financing, insurance, timelines, and the city-level variants for Newport Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, and the rest of Orange County. A med spa cluster runs from "how much does Morpheus8 cost" through "Botox vs Dysport." A construction cluster runs from "ADU cost in Orange County" through permit timelines. Within a couple of quarters you own the topic, and owning the topic is what gets you cited by name.

Content is the fuel. Every channel is the engine.

A good piece never lives once. The same question-intent article becomes a nurture email in HubSpot, three social posts, a script your AI voice front desk can draw on when callers ask the same question, and the landing page your Meta and Google ads point to. The hooks, proof points, and objection handlers in our ad creative come straight out of content research, because the questions people ask in search are the same ones they hesitate on before buying. This is why we do not sell "blogging" as a standalone line item. Content is the raw material for SEO, answer engine visibility, email, social, and paid, and we plan and price it that way.

Built by an operator, priced like adults

PELORA's founder, Preston Durnford, co-founded Fresh Start Detox, sold in 2025, and SoCal Mental Health. He spent years on the client side of agency retainers, reading content calendars full of posts that would never move a phone. That experience set the terms here: retainers start at $3,500 a month, ad spend is billed direct and never marked up, and every engagement starts with a free Growth Check on a booked call. The audit shows you the exact questions your market is asking, which ones competitors already answer, and which ones are sitting unclaimed. If the gaps are not worth chasing, we will tell you that too.

How we do it

From real questions to ranked answers.

  1. 1

    Mine the real questions

We pull from Google Search Console, autocomplete, People Also Ask, review sites, competitor gaps, your sales calls, and what ChatGPT and Perplexity currently say about your category. The output is a ranked list of questions real buyers ask, scored by buying intent.

  2. 2

Map the topic, not the keyword

Questions get clustered into pillar pages and supporting question-intent pages, tied to the services that drive revenue. You see a 90-day content map before anything gets written, including local pages for the Orange County cities you serve.

  3. 3

    Produce answer-first

Articles open with the direct answer in the first hundred words. On-location video captures your experts answering the top questions on camera. Every page ships with FAQ blocks, schema markup, entity linking, and internal links. Anything clinical goes through your team for review before publish.

  4. 4

    Multiply across channels

Each piece gets repurposed: short vertical clips, HubSpot nurture emails, social posts, Google Business Profile updates, and raw material for paid creative. One shoot and one article should never produce one asset.

  5. 5

    Measure, prune, double down

Every month we track rankings, AI engine citations, and leads by page inside the CRM. Pages that stall get rewritten or cut. Clusters that convert get expanded. The same kill-or-scale discipline as our paid side, on a content timescale.

What owners ask about content.

What is content marketing, and how is it different from just having a blog?

Content marketing is publishing material that answers the questions your buyers ask on the way to a purchase, so they find you, trust you, and contact you. A blog is just a format, and most business blogs fail because topics are chosen by whim instead of demand. We only produce pieces mapped to a real question with buying intent, then structure them so Google ranks them and AI engines quote them.

Does content marketing still work now that ChatGPT just answers everything?

It works differently, and it matters more. AI engines do not invent answers about your business; they pull from content that already exists. Semrush's 10 million keyword study found AI Overviews on roughly one in four tracked Google queries at the 2025 peak. If your site holds the clearest answer, you are the source that gets named. If it does not, a competitor is.

How much does content marketing cost?

Our retainers start at $3,500 a month. Where yours lands depends on the mix: written question-intent pages cost less to produce than on-location video, and a full content plus video plus distribution program runs higher. We scope after a free Growth Check on a call, so the proposal is based on the actual gaps in your market, not a package sheet.

Can I just use ChatGPT to write my content myself?

You can, and the method is not a secret. But generic AI content is exactly what everyone else is publishing, and search and answer engines have gotten good at ignoring it. What a prompt cannot produce: your real pricing, real video of your team and space, first-hand expertise, and local specificity. Most owners find the writing is the easy part; the question research, schema, video production, and distribution are where it stalls. That system is what you are hiring.

How long until content marketing brings in leads?

Plan on 90 days for a real signal and six months for compounding results. Some question-intent pages rank in weeks when competition is thin, and AI engines can start citing a clear answer faster than classic SEO moves, but anyone promising page one in 30 days is selling you something. We set honest expectations and then beat them.

What do we get each month?

It depends on scope, but a typical engagement includes question-intent articles built from real search data, video cut from on-location shoots, FAQ and schema updates across the site, repurposed email and social content, and a monthly report showing rankings, AI engine citations, and leads by page. What you will never get is a calendar of filler posts written to hit a quota.

Will this work for a med spa, dental office, or medical weight loss clinic?

These are the searches we live in. Med spa buyers ask cost and comparison questions like "how much is Morpheus8 in Newport Beach." Dental patients ask about implant costs and financing. Weight loss patients ask how programs differ and what is covered. Whoever answers clearly, with a real provider on camera, wins the click and the AI citation. Elective and aesthetic medicine across Orange County is our home turf.

We run a treatment center. Can you write about addiction and mental health without compliance headaches?

Yes. This is the vertical our founder comes from: Preston co-founded Fresh Start Detox and SoCal Mental Health, so we know how admissions works. We avoid outcome guarantees, write for clinical accuracy, and route anything treatment-related through your clinical team before publish. The content focuses on what families search: insurance verification, what detox is like, levels of care, and how to choose a program.

Who owns the articles and pages you write?

On payment you own the creative, the written content and the website work produced under the agreement, and you keep ownership of your own accounts and data at all times. That includes the articles, the page copy and anything built on your site. There is no licence that expires and nothing gets taken down if you leave.

What happens in the first 30 days?

Week one is research: what people in your category actually search and ask, read from search data rather than guessed. Week two is the plan and the first drafts. Week three is your review and publishing. Week four is the first measurement pass, which is early and will not show rankings yet. Content is the slowest channel we run and the first month is about building the engine, not results.

Do you write for businesses outside your area?

Nationwide. We are based in California and run accounts across the United States. Content has no geographic constraint at all. What changes is the research: a national page targets different language than a city page, and the two should not be the same article with a place name swapped in.

How do you keep it from sounding like AI wrote it?

By starting from things only you know. The research gives us the questions; the answers come from your actual experience, your objections, the things you find yourself explaining on every call. Generic content is what you get when nobody asks the operator anything. We would rather interview you for twenty minutes than publish something that could have been written about any business in your category.

Will this work if my competitors have been publishing for years?

It depends on the gap and we will tell you honestly after looking. An established competitor with hundreds of pages is hard to displace on broad terms. Specific questions they have not answered are a different matter, and most categories have more of those than people expect. If the honest read is that you cannot win the terms that matter, we will say so.

How many pieces do I get a month?

It is a stated number on every tier rather than something vague. We do not use the word unlimited anywhere, because nobody means it. The count is on the pricing page and in your agreement, and it does not move without a conversation.

What do you need from me?

Access to publish on your site or someone who can, a short interview to start, and a named person who can answer a factual question within a day or two. That last one is the real bottleneck. Content stalls far more often waiting on an internal review than on writing.

What happens if I want to leave?

Standard terms are a three month minimum, then month to month with 30 days notice, and no early termination fee. The three months exist because the work needs that long to produce a readable result, not to trap you. Everything published stays yours and stays up.

Influencer marketing, included from $14,000 a month

Creators run the ads now.

The pattern that wins on Meta right now: creators run the ads, the brand page anchors them, one proven line runs across many faces, and every ad lands on a page built for it.

What it costs

Most creators are under $300 a post.

Small accounts run $150 to $400, mid-size $400 to $1,500. You pay each creator directly, never through us, and you approve each one before it is paid.

What we do

We find them, brief them, and run them.

About 30 accounts reviewed for every one signed. We negotiate, contract, brief what they can and cannot say, read every post before it goes live, then run it as your ad from their handle.

Where it lands

Every ad gets its own page.

The ad and the page say the same thing to the same person. Most agencies send every click to one general page. We build the page for the ad, which is why the click turns into a call.
